An awkward moment during Usher and Chris Brown’s joint R&B Tour quickly became one of the internet’s biggest concert conversations.

During the July 25 Nashville show, Usher invited fan Gabrielle Cheyenne onstage while performing “Can U Handle It?” When she appeared uncomfortable and uninterested in the serenade, Usher stopped the interaction and sent her back into the crowd.
Cheyenne later explained that she had been upgraded to VIP without knowing which performer might bring her onstage. She said she primarily attended the concert to see Chris Brown and would have reacted differently if Brown had selected her.
Usher addressed the viral moment during the tour’s next stop in Birmingham, warning future participants to make sure they were comfortable before joining him onstage. The original clip and the fan’s explanation continued spreading across social media.
