The cause of death for Grammy-nominated producer Tay Keith has been revealed.

The medical examiner reportedly determined that Keith died from the toxic effects of ketamine and mitragynine. Mitragynine is the primary active compound associated with kratom.
Keith, born Brytavious Lakeith Chambers, died on June 18 at age 29. The Memphis producer became one of the defining beatmakers of his generation through major records with Drake, Travis Scott, BlocBoy JB and other artists.
His production credits include “Sicko Mode,” “Nonstop” and “Look Alive.” The news of his death led to tributes throughout the hip-hop community.
The newly reported findings provide a medical determination and should be presented without speculation beyond the examiner’s conclusion.
