Apple introduced the new M6-powered Mac mini alongside the M5 Ultra Mac Studio, targeting everyday creators and professionals running demanding AI workloads.

Apple has unveiled two major additions to its Mac lineup: the new M6 chip and the company’s most powerful processor yet, M5 Ultra.

The M6 powers Apple’s updated Mac mini and is the company’s first chip produced using a 2-nanometer process. It features a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU and Dual 16-core Neural Engine designed to improve everyday performance, graphics and on-device artificial intelligence.
For professional users, Apple introduced M5 Ultra inside the new Mac Studio. The quad-die processor can be configured with up to a 36-core CPU, 80-core GPU, 512GB of unified memory and 1.2TB per second of memory bandwidth.
Apple says these improvements will accelerate video editing, visual effects, software development, local AI processing and other demanding creative workloads.
The M6 Mac mini starts at $899. Mac Studio begins at $2,499 with M5 Max, while the M5 Ultra configuration starts at $5,499.
Preorders opened August 25, with the new systems scheduled to reach customers and stores beginning September 22.
