The Los Angeles Clippers’ dealings involving Kawhi Leonard are reportedly under federal investigation.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn is reportedly leading a criminal investigation into financial arrangements involving Leonard, the Clippers and outside sponsors.
The investigation follows an NBA inquiry into whether off-court compensation was used to circumvent the league’s salary-cap rules.
According to Reuters, prosecutors have issued at least one subpoena and could present evidence to a grand jury.
The NBA previously fined the Clippers $30 million, removed five future first-round draft selections and suspended owner Steve Ballmer for one year after its separate investigation.
Leonard was fined $700,000. He said he entered the agreements in good faith and had no knowledge of an effort to circumvent the salary cap.
The Clippers have denied wrongdoing and disputed the NBA’s conclusions. A federal investigation does not itself establish that a crime occurred.
