Cardi B has established a new certification record among female rappers after “WAP” officially reached Diamond status.

The Recording Industry Association of America certified the Megan Thee Stallion collaboration at 10 million units on August 3.
The certification gives Cardi four Diamond records—more than any other female rapper in RIAA history.
Her Diamond-certified catalog now includes “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin, Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” featuring Cardi B and “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion.
“WAP” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020 and became one of the decade’s most discussed rap releases. The record also became the first collaboration between two female rappers to receive an RIAA Diamond certification.
The milestone began trending again over the weekend as fans compared Cardi’s four certifications with Nicki Minaj’s three.
The record represents an official certification achievement. It should not be presented as evidence of a personal conflict between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj.
