Fat Joe and his wife, Lorena Cartagena, are providing major assistance to families affected by Colombia’s August earthquake.

The couple reportedly personally financed two cargo flights carrying approximately 100 tons of humanitarian supplies into the country.
The shipments included nonperishable food, first-aid materials, hygiene products and other essential items intended for communities recovering from the disaster.
Cartagena is Colombian, making the relief effort particularly personal for the couple. Supplies were directed toward affected families in areas including Pereira and Armenia.
Fat Joe joins several artists and public figures contributing to the recovery effort following the destructive earthquake.
The response offers another example of hip-hop figures using their resources and visibility to support communities beyond the entertainment industry.
