HIP-HOP — SUPERSTAR PRIDE APPEARS TO BE RELEASED

Mississippi rapper Superstar Pride appears to have been released on bond after spending more than three years in custody while facing a first-degree murder charge.

Date: August 27, 2026

New photographs and videos circulating across social media show the “Painting Pictures” rapper outside of jail. Reports surrounding his release claim that he was granted a $175,000 bond, although complete court records confirming every condition of his release have not yet been widely published.

Superstar Pride, whose legal name is Cadarrius Pride, was arrested in July 2023 following the fatal shooting of 40-year-old Marcus Wheatley in Sardis, Mississippi. Wheatley was identified in reports as Pride’s barber.

Authorities charged Pride with first-degree murder after he surrendered to the Panola County Sheriff’s Office. He was initially denied bond and remained in custody while awaiting further court proceedings.

His reported release does not mean the charge was dismissed or that the case has concluded. Pride has not been convicted, and his legal case remains unresolved.
