HIP-HOP — LIL DURK’S DEFENSE CHALLENGES KEY WITNESSES

Lil Durk’s defense team is focusing attention on the credibility of cooperating witnesses as his federal murder-for-hire trial continues in Los Angeles.

Date: August 26, 2026

Defense attorney Brian Steel questioned an investigator about interviews involving individuals prosecutors expect to testify against Durk, including Kacey “OTF Jam” Hester and Kavon “OTF Vonni” Grant.

Online coverage highlighted an exchange in which the investigator acknowledged that cooperating witnesses could theoretically provide false information to benefit themselves. That acknowledgment does not establish that either witness actually lied.

Prosecutors allege Durk financed a 2022 attack targeting Quando Rondo that killed Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson. Durk’s defense argues that the government cannot prove he ordered or knowingly financed the attack.

Durk has pleaded not guilty. The trial remains underway, and none of the allegations against him have been proven by a verdict.
