HIP-HOP — KODAK BLACK GETS BROWARD CHARGES DISMISSED

A Broward County judge has dismissed fleeing and resisting charges against Kodak Black.

Date: September 9, 2026

The charges stemmed from a February traffic stop involving the South Florida rapper, whose legal name is Bill Kapri.

Kodak’s attorney challenged the allegations and characterized the encounter as a misunderstanding rather than an intentional attempt to flee or resist law enforcement.

After considering the arguments and available evidence, the judge dismissed the charges.

The ruling closes this particular Broward County case in Kodak’s favor. It should not be confused with any separate legal proceedings involving the artist.

The dismissal quickly gained attention across the hip-hop timeline as supporters celebrated another significant courtroom development involving the Florida rapper.
