GAMING — XBOX TAKES OVER KOJIMA’S PHYSINT

Hideo Kojima’s anticipated action-espionage game Physint has officially moved from PlayStation to Xbox.

Date: September 10, 2026

Xbox will publish the project after Sony unexpectedly canceled PlayStation’s involvement in June.

According to Kojima, his independent studio received a sudden cancellation notice and spent approximately three months searching for a publishing partner that shared its creative vision.

Xbox and Kojima Productions were already working together on the upcoming horror project OD. Microsoft’s decision to take over Physint significantly expands that partnership.

Kojima has described Physint as a next-generation action-espionage experience. Its concept and the creator’s history with Metal Gear have led many players to view it as a spiritual successor to that franchise.

The game remains in early development and is not expected to arrive before 2030. Platform availability beyond Xbox and Windows has not been fully detailed.
