The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against singer D4vd and several individuals and companies connected to him.
Date: September 9, 2026
D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, is already facing criminal charges connected to the 14-year-old’s death.
The civil complaint was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and reportedly names Burke, his manager, talent agency, a security guard and his mother.
The family alleges that people around the singer were aware of an inappropriate relationship involving the teenager. Those claims remain allegations and have not been established by a civil judgment.
Burke has pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges and remains jailed without bond while that case continues.
The wrongful-death action is separate from the criminal prosecution. The civil court will determine potential financial liability, while the criminal court will determine whether prosecutors can prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
