Date: August 31, 2026
The 77-year-old singer performed August 29 at The Muny in Forest Park.
Concert attendees said Richie appeared to experience difficulty near the end of his set and requested a chair while performing his final song, “All Night Long.”
Sources close to the situation told TMZ that Richie checked himself into a local hospital for testing. Doctors were reportedly examining possible slight dehydration, and Richie was hoping to be discharged Tuesday.
A detailed diagnosis has not been publicly announced by Richie or his representatives.
The hospitalization follows another health incident during a June concert in St. Paul, Minnesota. Richie told the crowd he felt dizzy before cutting that performance short and postponing two subsequent tour dates.
He later returned to the stage and told supporters that he had recovered.
Richie’s next scheduled performance is September 26 in San Francisco. It has not been officially announced whether the hospitalization will affect that appearance.
