Snoop Dogg has been named the host of the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.
Date: September 11, 2026
The ceremony will take place September 27 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will air across CBS and MTV while streaming through Paramount+.
Snoop will also serve as an executive producer for the broadcast.
The rapper described the opportunity as a full-circle moment because MTV helped introduce his music and West Coast hip-hop to a global audience early in his career.
Snoop is a 13-time VMA nominee and a three-time winner. He has also participated in several memorable VMA performances throughout his career.
The ceremony’s return to Los Angeles marks its first appearance in the city since 2017.
