Lil Wayne Unveils The "New Generation" Of Young Money Artists Ahead Of "Tha Carter VI"

Since fully taking the reins of Young Money in 2018, Lil Wayne has been reshaping the label—and his upcoming album, Tha Carter VI, marks a bold next chapter.

In a recent Rolling Stone interview, Wayne revealed the new album will feature “left field” collaborations, saying he challenged himself to ask, “What would I sound like on a track with so-and-so?” Confirmed guests include Miley Cyrus, U2’s Bono, and opera legend Andrea Bocelli—a signal that Wayne is blending past and future in a unique way.

He’s taking the same approach to the Young Money roster. On a new episode of Young Money Radio, Weezy introduced rising stars like Jay Jones, Allan Cubas, Domiio, Poppy, and Lucifena as part of the label’s new era, while still keeping familiar names like Euro, Cory Gunz, and Lil Twist in the mix.

Set to release on June 6, Tha Carter VI has been nearly seven years in the making. The album cover—revealed in April—pays homage to earlier Carter entries, and hard copies and merch dropped for pre-sale the same day. Leading up to the album, Wayne also released Tha Fix Before Tha VI in September 2023, featuring Jon Batiste, Euro, and Fousheé.

As both an artist and executive, Lil Wayne is proving he's not just revisiting his legacy—he’s reinventing it.
