Jury selection is officially underway in Diddy’s highly anticipated trial, and a few unexpected celebrity names have entered the spotlight. According to AllHipHop, potential jurors were recently questioned about their opinions or knowledge of Michael B. Jordan—a name mentioned in Cassie’s 2023 lawsuit against Diddy. While Jordan is not accused of any wrongdoing, the suit claims Diddy threatened the actor after learning he spent New Year’s Eve with Cassie during a brief split in 2015. CNN later confirmed Jordan’s identity, though he wasn’t initially named.
Kid Cudi’s name also came up in the jury screening. Cassie previously accused Diddy of threatening to “blow up” the rapper’s car in 2012. Around that time, Cudi’s vehicle did explode in his driveway, and his representatives later confirmed the claims in the lawsuit were “all true.”
The jury selection is expected to wrap by Friday, with opening statements scheduled for Monday, May 12.
Diddy, who was arrested in September 2024, is facing serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. If convicted, he could receive a life sentence. While appearing in court earlier this week, the music mogul admitted he was “nervous” but continues to maintain his innocence.
